Unfortunately right now I can't be adding another project to my plate (this is particularly ironic after the last response I posted lol Last week was brutal so hopefully now I can have time to edit today! :D It may not be a finished project like the prompt states, but hey, adding a scene into the chapter (and losing my mind in the process because I hate editing) is technically still creating.

I really want to have enough time to finish all my ideas (the big ones) before school kicks up, but I also have to watch my health, and I'm technically still doing school interviews so the process isn't even done. Dx God I just need more time! And then sometimes when I DO have the time to write...I don't write. Stare screen, mind empty. Why am I doing this.

This is a hard one for me to answer because I don't read much these days. In addition, my fandoms right now would just be original fiction if I removed the original setting from them. FTL is a sci fi game, but the lore/story in that game is so threadbare, The characters don't have a personality and you can change their names at any point in the game, so you're making original characters naturally). As a result, fics already made for the series read as just normal sci fi (makes the fandom incredibly fandom-blind friendly). I'm writing a modern AU of my characters from my FTL fic and I didn't even bother listing it as an FTL fic, I just used the "Original Fiction" fandom tag on AO3. I am in a couple of anthro "fandoms" (not really a fandom, I guess). I'm already creating my own setting and attributing characteristics to characters. My periodic table anthro fic is a Hollywood AU mixed with a Bonnie & Clyde AU.

If I read AUs, they will tend to be fluffier and/or lighter (in terms of plot, angst, drama, conflict, etc) unless I'm super intrigued by the combination of certain characters in a certain setting. So, AUs that are fixits, "Everyone Lives/No One Dies", fluffy stuff. It's like a reprieve for me.

In your own space, make a list of things that you wish existed in fandom or elsewhere, and/or that you'd like someone to create or do for you.

This list feels incredibly selfish and ungrateful to say out loud.

In order from most want to still want:

1. Comments on my fics! Oh, to wake up and get an email notification on Inbox(1)...I write for the sake of the ideas, but I'd be lying if I said the lack of response doesn't affect my speed or motivation at all, and during periods where I get incredibly stuck, it just compounds a lot.

2. I want the stigma around fanfiction to disappear for the FTL fandom. I have been trying to do this by keeping the TV tropes page updated from time to time (and also posting fics that I've tried very hard to polish so no one can accuse it of being poorly written), but that requires 3 to be a thing as well. I don't think anything I've done has mattered.

3. More fic for the FTL fandom

4. Specifically, more Rebfed (Rebel/Federation, this canon's enemies to lovers) romance fics

5. I NEED an alternative to google docs. Basically google docs but with native doc mode. All the extensions are borked, docs does not care, and there are no real competitors out there like it. I don't like Word/Microsoft 365 and they have annoying ads. I'm even okay with paying but there is just nothing like it! Currently I have resorted to just changing my page black but I absolutely hate it because it messes up the doc on mobile (I write primarily on desktop) and I hate having to use workarounds. I use an extension to darken the background and as a result the colors are messed up (if I want to highlight something or change font color, I have to turn off the extension because it literally messes up the whole box of colors). I need this because right now I have a medical issue and this is frankly unacceptable. It seems so easy to add but docs has been doing a couple of small updates (of what, you can't tell from the front end) that then broke the extensions that did help.

6. I wish to have a beta. I already do, and I talk with some (as I enjoy getting multiple opinions). I love and appreciate their help, but I feel like they are running out of things to suggest. They definitely still help with soundboarding and making sure logic sticks as well as just general feedback, but I wonder if I am starting to run into problems that they too don't know how to solve. Also I won't be able to work with a couple of them in the near future, and they were two of my main helpers so the beta situation is currently up in the air.

7. A smut beta. I also just would love to have someone specifically to beta smut, because it seems smut betas are a rare breed. I haven't had a beta for my smut in over a year now ;-; I hear stories of people with these lovely beta-writer relationships and I'm so jealous! haha It's like reading about your favorite pairing and living vicariously through them, and I am doing the same thing with what I hear about other people and their betas xD

8. A cheerleader! Someone who loves my writing and wants to cheer me on!

9. Character art sounds so cool! My current focus are two characters who I primarily write for (for these fics). I made pinterest boards for them a long time ago xD Pell's was hard because people just don't draw Indians, much less in manga style. I had to be creative about her pictures, basically combine them all together to get what I kind of picture her as. Seinen's was a lot easier. He reminds me sometimes (look-wise) of Dazai from BSD, but I actually didn't know BSD was a thing years after I had come up with his character! Here are Seinen's and Pell's Pinterest boards. 10. ...Can more people write Harvard/MIT fic? That is such an amazing pairing and it's a shame there's only the one fic from a Yuletide ways back! I'm writing one of my own (curse that author for the inspiration lol), but I had to make it so it doesn't count. For those curious, this is the glorious Yuletide fic. This idea is the epitome of "I didn't know I wanted it until I learned it existed". Literally had no concept that this could even be possible until someone was talking about reading a fic about it and I was like "...What did you say?"

11. ...Same with Chlorine/Fluorine. And just Periodic Table fics in general tbh. Come on, it can't just be me (Coming Soon to an AO3 Near You). Someone wrote a fun gen fic for PT this year. I must have more!

This is shaping up to be a big year for me, both fannish and personal! I'll be going to grad school in the fall, so ideally I want to relax and do ALL the writing I can before then. A goal is to wrap up some projects I have been working on since 2020 and 2021 (specifically 2 longfics for sure, and I would like to add 4 Yuletide stories into NYR). It's complicated, though, because each story has a different obstacle I have to get through. And I'm stuck for a reason...To help with this, or at least provide me with a writing community, I'm doing Get Your Words Out. I'm in the 120 days tier, and my secondary goal is 75,000 words this year. I will feel immensely satisfied if I complete and start posting one of the longfics and finish the other. I feel like that is the minimum but I also know it is a high bar. I would like to regain my momentum in writing again.

Hello! My name is laniusplushie! I tend to write for microfandoms, my "main" one being a sci-fi strategy PC roguelike called "FTL: Faster Than Light" (that inspired my username). I am StrikingLightning on AO3. I also write "original" fic and post there as well. I want to get into other fandoms, which are also small unfortunately (but I do have some ideas for Genshin Impact). I really wish I could find an active fandom I enjoyed xD One day, maybe?

Currently I am also writing for the Periodic Table of Elements (Anthro) as well as Devil in Winter (by Lisa Kleypas) in addition to my original fic (the FTL fic has taken a backseat for the time being, but I am working on a oneshot to get out for it soon!).

I used to write primarily gen, but now I seem to shift to plot with a little smut (still vastly plot but we add a little smut as a treat). Only one out of the four things I am writing right now has smut, for example. I'll be adding some variety to my profile xD haha

I keep figuring out things to add to this post every time I finish editing it. I would like to stop, lol. This is what I mean by "I am not good at listing things off the top of my head" lol.

Hello! I am laniusplushie, but also StrikingLightning on AO3! Nice to meet you! I tried to make this as detailed as possible, but I'm notorious for not being able to list out everything all at once (which was why this took so long, but even then I could make a mistake).If you have any potential questions on whether something is OK, feel free to reach a mod.

You will notice a decent chunk of my letter is my signup. I tried to add what I could during signups since that was a hard deadline. The main concern is that I didn't add enough DNWs as I should have, which I will try to rectify with this letter. I also included some more info on my opinions in case that could help.

Fandoms:

FTL

Characters:
The fandom doesn't really have canon characters, so bringing out OCs you've made is perfectly fine. If you are at a loss for OCs, you can also feel free to use the ones I made from this oneshot (also fandom blind).

Preferences/Prompts:
- A story that does not end in everyone dead or even with a single character dying. While losing the game is quite common, I find it a little tiring that so many FTL fics end in death. I would like to read something that's more uplifting and less existentialist/nihilistic. A fic where everyone survives just in the nick of time, or a story that takes place during the journey would be fine. After all, winning runs in FTL actually have less crew deaths than a losing run. I am also okay with post-canon interpretations of what happens after the Federation wins, or perspectives from Rebel soldiers.

- Nothing too graphic or morbid (also technically a DNW)

- Rebels are an interesting aspect of the game, because they're depicted as the "bad guys" here (but are they truly?). It could be fun to explore them and their methodology and their culture (they do own huge portions of the galaxy through sectors, they seem to have their own government). If you write Rebels in your story, I would prefer them to to be morally grey at worst (or maybe an interpretation where they are actually the 'good' guys and YOU'RE not!)

- Romance is okay between human characters, but there should be some sci fi/adventure story happening outside of it that takes up most of the story. It can be about some of the events in game, or you can branch out since FTL is, in general, a love letter to sci fi as a whole.

DNWs:
- sex for this fandom (UNLESS it was between between my OCs, but I know that's a weird ask so otherwise no but no hard feelings otherwise)
- depictions of rape or describing soldiers raping others
- reader insert type things or second person, unless it is interactive fiction (IF)
- no bashing Rebels (criticisms are fine, but nothing extreme)
- darkfic
- lots of gore
- (your) crew deaths
- cliffhanger endings/lack of resolution
- themes of cynicism/nihilism/existentialism/futility (that your plotline or the canon is "all for nothing")
- no references or allegories to real life people/things/events

Code Realize

Characters: Cardia Beckford and Victor Frankenstein <3
I LOVE THESE TWO TOGETHER! HANDS DOWN, the most synergistic couple in the VN and I WILL FIGHT YOU on that. They're so sweet and considerate of each other and work through their trauma TOGETHER. It is a very balanced couple. Plus, Fran makes it just a liiiiitle spicy sometimes, and I appreciate my smol nerdy cinnamon roll keeping things fresh, okay? The rest of the gang is okay to show up in pieces (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE DNWs, so check below please).

Preferences/Prompts:
- A fluff piece of them getting together or them already in a romantic relationship (but mostly the latter).
- I am totally okay with canon divergence and a different way the sequence of events goes down in Fran's route, as I found Victoria's motives questionable and flimsy at best.
- The gang having some type of adventure where Fran and Cardia are at the forefront.
- Smut can be okay as long as it is brief and vanilla, something fluffy and tender, just like Fran is! :D However, I don't mind if Fran has his moments, like during the ending kiss scene of his route, and his after route extra (with the caterpillar ;D hehe, maybe that event made them want to do stuff afterrrr? mayyyybeee?)
- I would GREATLY prefer it if the story was written like Fran has already solved Cardia's immortality problem, so they can both live their lives together without that anxiety (FUCK IDEA)

DNWs:
- Lupin and Finnis shouldn't even be mentioned in the story. Lupin can have a throwaway line about how he's on a mission or something, but Finnis shouldn't even come up. Lupin was Mr. canon and the poster boy was everywhere, and his personality could easily overshadow Fran's gentler one in situations. I want the spotlight on my boy.
- I don't want Cardia to really talk about her "father" or how her old family was, because those were dysfunctional dynamics that I don't really want to read about, especially since Cardia still seems to have a fondness for them
- Fran's a good boi, and he has that volunteer clinic, but I would prefer it if the story wasn't centered around that or his patients or the mafia family
- Darkfic

Food Wars

Characters: Takumi Aldini and Tadokoro Megumi

Even though this is a rarepair, I like the idea of this relationship because both are always near Soma in some way and get influenced by him a LOT. However, these two never interact. And both of them being good chefs in their own right and don't have abrasive personalities (Aldini does a little but it always seems to be sort of a "bumbling tsundere" type personality. He never truly means any malice towards Soma compared to, say, Erina). I was curious in reading a fic of these two.

Preferences/Prompts:
- fluff of them getting into a relationship (preferably this and them not already in a relationship, as I am mostly interested in how such a pairing could come about)
- the fic doesn't have to deal with cooking, if you feel overwhelmed by the cooking knowledge in the show (I know I do!). If you're fine with doing a food war or some other school related cooking thing, go for it! If not, it's not needed. You can have them do something outside of school, or them on vacation.
- sex is fine but there must be plot, and I would prefer a fic where they aren't exactly established yet, since I'm very curious as to how that beginning part of their relationship would play out to begin with. If there's sex, I'm fairly into vanilla stuff (and I'm sure if you were to stay in character with them, you'd come to the same conclusion haha)

Hakuouki

Characters: Okita Souji and Yukimura Chizuru
I love Souji's wit and humor and would like to read more interactions between him and Chizuru. The other people from the Shinsengumi can appear as well in the background. I have a soft spot for Saito in particular ;D

Preferences/Prompts:
- A fic where they are in an established relationship (if you do post war, please let them communicate with other living members, or make the other members also alive, that is perfectly fine with me if you choose to be canon divergent)
- A fic where they aren't but everyone knows they're basically in love with each other and they end up together in the end.
- Maybe they go on a small quest together, nothing life threatening, it could be as mundane as shopping if you so choose
- A fic where Souji's lifespan issue is solved
